What do you do when you set the standard for determining what a potent, full-bodied cigar should be? You turn it up a couple of notches. Well, that’s exactly what Quesada did with the Casa Magna XV Anniversary cigar, which was crafted to celebrate this award-winning cigar’s fifteenth anniversary. Only they tweaked the blend by adding an Ecuadorian Habano 2000 maduro wrapper to add more flavor. Underneath this delicious wrapper is a Nicaraguan binder and filler, which is made of tobacco grown in the Jalapa and Esteli regions of Nicaragua. Jalapa leaves are known for their complexity, and Esteli leaves are highly regarded for their strength. In 2008, Quesada released the Casa Magna Colorado (a Nicaraguan puro), which rapidly drew attention for its potency and flavor. The line’s robusto vitola won Cigar Aficionado’s 2008 Cigar of the Year. Then in 2022, it won the No. 20 spot in Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 Cigars of 2022. The cigars are expertly handmade in the Dominican Republic.
