Rocky Patel Fifty Toro 6 1/2 * 52, Box of 10

At the IPCPR show in 2011, Rocky Patel showed off his most expensive cigar to date, the Rocky Patel Fifty. Produced tocommemorate his fiftieth birthday, the Fiftys are rolled in Rocky’s new factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, Tabacalera Villa Cuba S.A., better known as TAVICUSA. The tobacco used in the Fifty release have been aged over eight years and the blend uses a double binder as well. Rocky worked for over four years perfecting the blend of this cigar, and we are launching it to celebrate his 50th birthday. The tobaccos in the Rocky Patel Fifty have been aged over eight years, and the cigars feature an Ecuadorian wrapper, each hand selected from the unique 7th priming of the tobacco plant. The cigars feature two distinct binders that both enhance, and engage, the flavors of the secret blend of Nicaraguan fillers.

Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.

Ecuadorian Habano
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuadorian Habano wrapper has become one of the most used cigar wrappers in the market. Grown primarily by the Oliva family, this tobacco originated from Habano or H2000 seeds brought to Ecuador from Cuba. This leaf is rich and flavorful thanks to the temperate climate of Ecuador and the quality of its volcanic soil.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Miguel G Neptune, I was looking at the website for the Rocky Patel 20th anniversary and don’t see them. Guess you don’t have them in stock will they be available on your website or store?

Allison Petitt Hi, Miguel, It seems that the Twentieth is not currently in production as it's not even listed on the manufacturer's website at the moment. There's no word on it's return yet.

Rocky Patel showed us again why he is one of the best cigar makers of his time. In 2011 Rocky Patel released an ultra premium cigar that was meant to commemorate his 50th birthday. This rerelease was only made in a box pressed toro size. The Rocky Patel fifty has a great cocoa and earth aroma and its well packed with a tight and visible seam to it. This cigar has a great draw with a nice and even burnt it. During the first third I noticed notes of dark cherries and earth with a faint hint of cedar to it. I also noticed this cigar started out as a medium body strengthening to a full body while it's flavors intensify. Overall this is great cigar, so all you Rocky Patel fans come out and get one before they are all gone. Enjoy and Happy smoking my friends.
