If you like a mild smoke, then the Blackbird Jackdaw is your stick. Handmade in the Dominican Republic, the Jackdaw sports a light-brown Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper that rests over an Indonesian binder. Nestled inside is a special blend of Dominican, USA, and Corojo long-filler tobaccos. The Blackbird Jackdaw has a mouth-watering sweetness with a touch of white pepper.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Tobacco is grown in many islands of the Archipelago but, as far as cigars are concerned, Sumatra and Java are the ones. Sumatra Wrappers are worldwide known. Central Java (Vorstenland) and East Java (Besuki) give fillers and wrappers in abundance. Indonesia is a key country for cigar tobacco.

This was my second time ordering the Blackbird cigars. Although I was missing.part of my last order it was promptly taken care of. The construction of these cigars has been flawless, In fact I would be lying if I said I have found a single. negative thing about them. One of my new favorites for sure and.i will definitely be buying more. Side nite, I've been buying the sampler packs and if I absolutely HAD to choose a favorite it would be the Unkind or the Cuco.

Construction and draw were pretty much flawless. The stick had some nice creamy notes. I'm not really a Connecticut guy but do on rare occasion enjoy them that being said this one will probably not be on my personal repete list because there are others I like a lot better. But it would be worth trying

I was introduced to this newer brand by a friend. Based on descriptions from the Blackbird Cigar Co. website, I started in this order: Finch, Rook, Jackdraw, Cuco, Unkind, and finishing the sampler with the Crow. So far, I have made my way to the Jackdraw which I find impressive compared to the Finch and Rook. The Finch was a bit too light for my taste but I had no issues with the burn unlike some reviews from other customers. The Rook was a bit better in terms of aroma and taste but I did experience burn issues. The Jackdraw is somewhat complicated in taste but it opens your eyes halfway through. I am really looking forward to the Cuco, Unkind, and Crow. One downfall is the band being its size, it gets a bit annoying when removing it from the stick.

I did not find one that knocked my socks off- they were tasty but nothing distinct to make these stand out themselves or from each other. Build was a bit lose so burn was fast but nothing too bad. I enjoyed these camping with some whiskey- good campfire "gars" in the $5 range.
