Casa Cuevas Connecticut is an exquisite blend of Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan filler. This mild to medium blend with subtle spice is made in Tabacalera Las Lavas in Santiago, Dominican Republic.

The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Olor Dominicano and Piloto Cubano are the main types of tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic.

I really enjoyed this mild cigar. Great burn and draw. What impressed me was the mild flavor till done with no bite or funny after taste. Will buy some more as a great change from the stronger cigars I usually smoke.

Slightly firm draw to it, did not produce alot of smoke, and required some over puffing to get flavor out of it. ash was kind of flaky. Flavor notes were some cedar and vanilla that noticed in the front and some charred nuts in the background, some tea like flavor joined a little bit down, and for a lighter stick this has some nice complexity to it as some spice and white pepper come into it towards the middle. I would call this a mild stick,(no harshness at all) but flavorful and worth a try.

On the fence with this one. For me taste wise I’m getting earth tones, hay and some spice. Found the first third a little harsh before it mellowed for the final two thirds. It did, however, pair well with a cup of joe.
