Quesada Reserva Privada Barber-Pole

Two fine tobacco leaves team up to create the wrapper for the Quesada Reserva Privada Barber Pole cigar. Made by combining a USA Connecticut broadleaf with a USA Connecticut shade-leaf, this cigar’s wrapper is just as visually exciting to behold as it is to enjoy. The specially blended filler, made from tobacco grown in the San Vicente region of the Dominican Republic and ligero leaves from Pennsylvania, is nestled in a Dominican criollo binder. The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

USA Connecticut Broadleaf
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Connecticut Broadleaf is grown in the United States' Connecticut Valley and is prized for its dark, oily, full flavored and aromatic characteristics. The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.

Dominican Republic
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Dominican Republic is a traditional tobacco-growing country. In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.

Interesting two different tobacco wrappers thus the "barber pole". Had a hot spot when I first started smoking but was able to smoke through it. It was an OK cigar but not something I would buy again.

Looks great but has no taste. I was excited to try this beautiful barberpole. Looked so good but I was so disappointed. It broke my heart but I put this $14 stick out halfway through. Tight draw and no flavor.
