The Perdomo Lot 23 Connecticut is a mild strength cigar that is handmade in Nicaragua. Its light-brown Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper covers a binder and filler made of Cuban-seed Nicaraguan tobaccos that have been aged for five years. The Perdomo Lot 23 Connecticut is a smooth creamy smoke with notes of cedar.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Claro wrapper is light, yellowish brown in color.

Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.
Cuban Seed
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Cuban seed tobacco comes from seeds that originated in Cuba but are grown in other countries. The tobacco is used in binders as well as wrappers.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

I've always enjoyed Perdomo cigars but this is the first time I've tried this particular cigar. I bought a box to give them a try and really was surprised at the flavor. It was the same flavor that I enjoy with a good cuban. I also like that it has a Connecticut wrapper, my favorite. Slow burning with an even ash. Two thumbs up from me!

If you like Perdomo, this is a sampler you definitely should try. There were some I liked more than others (Lot 23 was very good) and I've re-used the bag over and over.

I don’t smoke too many cigars with this big a ring gauge but every once in awhile a smooth Connecticut is nice. The four cigars are all a little different, a few better than the others. They are all a little fuller than most Connecticut’s and all are good cigars. This selection won’t knock your socks off but a nice travel pack and consistent cigars.

20th Anniversary cigar did not have the taste I usually get from the 10th Anniversary cigar. Much too light taste. I guess. I enjoy the 10th Anniversary because it has the right draw and taste for me.

I tried the champagne series a couple of years ago, and vowed never again to smoke Perdomo sticks again. After a couple of years, I decided to take a second shot at this sampler, and was not disappointed. The construction on all 4 sticks were spot on, and the flavors were much better than my previous experience. I'll definitely try out more of what this company has got to offer

This review is only the 20th anniversary model. Perdomo 20th Anniversary in Churchill. This stick was part of a Perdomo sampler. Having watched a bunch of Nick Perdomo's cigar videos, it seems like this is the stick he most often has in his hand. It looks like a Connecticut wrapper, light tan with a hint of green. outside smell is mild coco and hay. Cold draw is a little on the snug side but acceptable. First puffs are the same coco and hay with a bit of Hazelnut, very mild, and the draw is just fine. Retrohale is easy, no spice, no bite. The band is distinctive, featuring just about every Perdomo trademark. However, it looks like it was sized for a 70-ring gauge cigar thus overlaps itself clumsily. The first inch has me struggling for taste descriptors beyond mild body and good burn. The second inch is developing white bread and orange marmalade without the sweetness. There is also a slight vegital note reminding me of a fresh chile pepper before any spice developes. First third marks flavor and body square in the mild zone. I can see why Mr. Nick carries these around. It's an all-day cigar that won't overwhelm your palate. The first ash held 2 inches. By the middle third, the body is up a tick though still mild and the flavor has become more woody while consistent and still hard to characterize given the lack of distinctive flavors. Burn performance is excellent as I have come to expect from this brand. Got a solid 2 hours of smoke time at a relaxed pace. The profile was consistent, high marks for that and performance. I have to admit being underwhelmed by the flavor though.

Nice little group of different but similar cigars. As a whole, well constructed with a nice easy draw and a nice efficient package that keeps the cigars in good smoking condition. A couple had slight problems with burning evenly and one tasted a little stale but that may be because of the humidity we have been having. I would buy the pack again.

Never had a problem with a Perdomo, however since I bought this pack, I only had one of them so I didn't rate it a 5 on everything, I'm certain I'll have no issues. Great thing about these is the humidor pack, if you travel on business it's a must, especially if you are headed to the west coast.
