When it was first released in the early 2000s, the Perdomo Inmenso Seventy brand made a big splash in the industry because of its thick 70-ring gauge (that’s over one inch in diameter), which was considered huge and rare at the time. The Sun Grown is a line extension of this popular brand, which is composed of a wrapper and filler made of tobaccos that have been aged for five years. The Perdomo Inmenso Seventy Sun Grown offers a flavorful smoking experience with a very spicy finish. It is hand crafted in Nicaragua.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Colorado is a medium brown color also known as EMS or English Market Selection as this used to be the color with more popularity in England than in America.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.
Sungrown
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Sungrown cigar wrappers come from tobacco plants that are grown directly under the sun without the use of man made tents to give shade as in Shade grown wrappers. As opposed to the Shade grown plants, sun grown tobacco plants grown thicker leaves with thicker veins and darker color. Sungrown wrappers can be appreciated for their rich taste and sweet undertones.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.
Cuban Seed
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Cuban seed tobacco comes from seeds that originated in Cuba but are grown in other countries. The tobacco is used in binders as well as wrappers.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Perdomo Cigars President, Nick Perdomo Jr., is a third-generation cigar maker. His grandfather and father were cigarmakers in Cuba until the Castro regime incarcerated Nick's grandfather,Silvio, and wounded Nick's father, Nick Sr., who was able to escape to America. Nick, who opened his cigar company in his garage, now oversees over 2000 employees and an 88,000 sq ft factory in Nicaragua. Perdomo cigars are well known all over the world.

It's definitely a novelty cigar. The wrapper started split soon after lighting. The draw was a little tight as well. Burn was uneven. Flavor was bitter throughout. There's better large rings novelty cigars out there to have a laugh with.

First Perdomo stick I ever didn’t care for. Ring gage is too big. Not much flavor. There is a reason this smoke is so much cheaper than other Perdomo sticks. Certainly not a bad smoke. Just not up my alley.

First off, I am a big fan of Perdomo. My usual is a 10th anniversary, but I have found the Inmenso is fast becoming my favorite. Of course with the 70 ring, it takes a while to smoke. The burn was perfect, the draw was great and the next time I am entered into a "long ash" contest, this the one I will be smoking. Oh, and the taste is consistent all the way which great considering the ring and length of the Churchill.

These are ok for their price point. Don't let the medium description fool you either. These can be pretty potent.The Asylum 13 7/70 are easily the best big ring cigars I have ever smoked.

Got these on a whim at a good discount. I usually prefer a larger ring gauge anyway, so I thought why not. After less than half a box, I'll give them cudos for staying power, enough to enjoy at least 2 scotches. I'll keep these as sort of a one-off in my humidor, but will most likely revert to the smaller ring gauge in the future.
