Cigar impresario Steve Saka, the head of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust, is known for developing and releasing one stellar cigar after another. The StillWell Star is Saka’s first foray into crafting a premium cigar using the finest pipe tobaccos as part of its blend. To achieve this goal, he enlisted the aid of Jeremy Reeves. He is the head blender at Cornell & Diehl, which is one of the top pipe tobacco makers in the industry. After some time researching and developing the ideal blends, the StillWell Star was born, and it is considered the “world’s first luxury pipe tobacco cigar.” Each blend in this flavorful brand features a dark chocolatey Ecuadorian Habano maduro wrapper, a Mexican San Andres binder with the filler for each line using different cigar and pipe tobaccos. The cigars are expertly handmade at the Joya de Nicaragua factory in Nicaragua.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuadorian Habano wrapper has become one of the most used cigar wrappers in the market. Grown primarily by the Oliva family, this tobacco originated from Habano or H2000 seeds brought to Ecuador from Cuba. This leaf is rich and flavorful thanks to the temperate climate of Ecuador and the quality of its volcanic soil.

Mexican San Andres
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
The San Andres region in Mexico is known for producing some of the best tobacco in the world. The tobacco is stalk cut and valued for its rich dark color and used to make noteworthy maduro wrappers and binders.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Steven Is this an infused cigar? Can store it with regular non-infused cigars?

NeptuneCigar.com This is not an infused cigar and it can be stored with regular cigars, although this selection most certainly will not taste like the normal cigar!

You'll want to be sure that you like sweet, infused cigars when you order this one, because these qualities are not subtle. As a cigar lover and an appreciator of the beautiful smell of and old pipe, I was intrigued, but as soon as the cap touched my lips I realized I was not prepared for this great of a departure. I will say, this smells strongly of Cavendish, and they really got that profile. Strikes me as a flavor blast on the level of something like McDonald's or Coca-Cola

Looked forward to this one since it had a year age on it. Was intrigued by the pipe tobacco blend. Banding is sophisticated, wrapper leaf is crisp and oily. Vcut. Flavor profile was spicy and sweet. Decent smoke output. For some reason it started to form a Lincoln tunnel and required a surgical amputation to save. Lost the second third... Final third detected some graham cracker but never fully redeemed itself unfortunately ???????

Descent looking stick with a good draw.. burn required more corrections than I would have liked but was smokeable. The flavors unfortunately disappointed me heard numerous saka interviews that said it tasted a lot like hot cocoa with marshmallows. Normally I wouldn't expect that but being as it is a pipe blend it should have been doable. But what I tasted was lite hints of chocolate in the first half then the last third was very bitter . For the price it won't be a repeat for me. To bad because the idea is solid

I've had a few StillWell cigars before but this was my first time trying the Bayou. I am not a pipe smoker so I had no idea what to expect. The construction and draw were perfect. Burn was so-so even after many months of rest. The flavors are definitely unique for a cigar. The pipe tobaccos gave a prominent aromatic floral note throughout the first half. Nuttiness is prominent the entire cigar. I could definitely taste the MSA binder with it's distinct spice and earthy cocoa notes, especially in the second half. The smoke had a silky smooth mouth feel. It's probably because I'm not a pipe smoker but I felt like something was missing from the flavors. I'm glad I tried it but it's not something I'd smoke regularly.

I have had these cigars before, and I really enjoy the taste. They are a very well constructed cigar. However, I have been disappointed with this batch half of them do not have the sweetened caps and the taste seems a little off. I'm not sure if they got mixed up at the factory or an oversight in quality control.

This is definitely not your everyday cigar hahaha. I thought the pipe tobacco would just spice it up a bit, but no... it completely dominates the profile. Its a nice experience to have, but it feels like you are smoking a pipe, not a cigar. Very sweet and vanilla notes. Still enjoyable, just not what you get from a regular cigar

The dry aroma is nearly a Hershey bar level of chocolate. I don't get much influence from the pipe tobacco other than the smoke mouth feel almost has an oily quality. Had more burn issues than I expected from a Saka cigar. I would smoke more of these. A nice special occasion cigar.

StillWell Star is a hidden gem. Extremely even burn, solidly dependable draw. Taste everything I might expect. It's a conservative smoke with no 'untowards.'

Thus far this is my favorite of the line. Oddly enough, the aroma was HEAVY cured tobacco, which concerned me (not a fan). However, it was a much more rich and creamy smoke and the curing flavor was a faint and distant hint in the background. Excellent cigar!

If you like the smell and taste of pipes (think of a sweeter pipe with almost a black cherry tone) this will be your smoke. It was almost a flawless cigar in everything but the taste, just too much of a pipe flavor for me personally.

I got all 4 of these and none of them are for me. The quality, construction, and burn were flawless but the flavors just didn't do anything for me. I have set some aside to give them a second chance later but for now I'll pass them over. If I had to put them in order I liked the #1, the #32, the #27, then the #1056.
