The Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 is an exceptional mild cigar. Its flavor, appearance and construction are enhanced by a silky, aged Connecticut shade wrapper. No other cigar in the market today uses vintage Connecticut wrapper from 1999.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Honduras, a Central American country which shares a border with Nicaragua, is widely known in the premium cigar industry as the ideal place to grow Cuban and Connecticut seed tobaccos. Danli and the Jamastran Valley is considered the heart of Honduras’ cigar industry. The Jamastran Valley is known for producing a full-bodied tobacco that draws strong comparisons to the tobacco grown in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. This same region is also known for its Connecticut shade grown and Corojo shade grown tobacco. In addition, Honduras produces Cuban-seed sun grown filler tobaccos of the highest quality.

NeptuneCigar.com That's a great question. No it hasn't. The cigars uses 7 year old wrapper in its blend according to the manufacturers. When it first came out it used wrapper from 1999, hence the name.

These cigars are really good. It has a distinct fermented quality, and is a touch spicy. Has a nice roasty flavor too. Not like other Connecticut wrappers I've tried that are more mellow and sweet. Very well made and burns slow, about 40 minutes. Good cigar for the money at about $3 a stick.

This is a great mini cigar. Doesn't smell bad, but it can linger without proper ventilation in a room. Easy smoke and relaxing after a hard days work. Price is really good and easy to maintain with a good humidor. Been smoking these for years without any issues. Quality is always there and highly recommended.

A solidly enjoyable any time of day smoke. Good draw, good smoke output and pleasant flavor. Only complaint is the high price. You can buy 2 of many other solid Conneticuts such as E.P. Carrillo New Wave or Aladino for the price of this one. And I wouldn't say this was better. If you find this on sale and love it then I'd say go for it. But I'll stick to better sticks for half the price.

This is a great Connecticut, mild but tasty, can compete shoulder to shoulder with the Dámaso, pair it with Cardenal Mendoza for the perfect aftertaste, a box worthy without a doubt.

It is hard to quantify a ‘sampler pack’ with a single review, so my above scores reflect what I feel is an average. This sampler pack came packaged beautifully, with a Boveda pack sealed inside. However, the Boveda pack was rock solid, meaning it had been dried out for quite some time. I think the protective tubes did their job quite effectively though, because the cigars were still in relatively good shape. Overall, I would recommend these to a friend just for the sheer novelty aspect of them. Plus, cigars that come in their own tubing travel well, and what’s to stop someone from reusing those tubes?

Incredible appearance on the wrapper of the Vintage 1990, so far I’ve smoked the 1999, which was fantastic. Early notes of vanilla, which progressed into baking chocolate and spice.

I like sticks that are more full bodied, but for a mild stick this one does not lack any flavor. Smooth and creamy is the best way to describe it. Great morning cigar to go along side a cortadito.

Incredibly surprised by this cigar. I am usually not a "mild" cigar person but I wanted to broaden my horizons to some other profiles, other wrapper and filler types instead of the spice filled bombs. This is the perfect cigar to complement a coffee of any kind but I imagine it would go well with a subtle cocktail as well like a Vodka Tonic or some red wine.

A handsome cigar with a suede-like feel and a pleasant pre-light aroma. Right off the bat you get light to medium bodied flavors of hay, cedar, nutmeg and a delicate citrusy sweetness. The draw was just a touch on the firm side but not problematic (perhaps I should have cut it just a little deeper). The burn was excellent right to the first band where it suddenly went out and didn't want re-light, so that's where I ended it. On the strength-o-meter, this cigar didn't even move the needle. If you like cigars with no noticeable kick, you're gonna love this one. Overall: An excellent choice to hand out to your friends that aren't regular cigar smokers, and an excellent afternoon cigar to have with a pitcher of your favorite lager. Thanks Rocky!

The Rocky Patel 1999 Vintage is a mild but flavorful & creamy cigar that sports a beautiful true Connecticut shade wrapper. It is constructed quite well, and makes a great smoke any time of the day. I found the predominant flavors to be nuts, butter, toast, with a subtle hint of spice. It pairs well with a cafe con leche in the A.M. or a decent scotch in the P.M. Cheers!

RP Vintage 1999 is a winner. I love cigars with aged tobacco and this is no exception. Smooth, mellow, with no harshness. I can taste the creamy smoke right now. Quality of the rolling is excellent and very constant. I also like its classy design. A real winner in my humidor.
