The 30th Anniversary Box-Pressed Connecticut features a smooth Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper that has been carefully aged for 15 years in a bourbon barrel. This gorgeous wrapper cloaks a binder and filler made of premium Nicaraguan tobacco that have been aged for 15 years. This specially hand-selected blend offers a balanced and complex smoking experience with an indescribable sweetness. Handmade in Nicaragua, the Perdomo 30th Anniversary Connecticut was crafted by the Perdomo family to not only celebrate the brand’s anniversary but as a way to thank their loyal supporters.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Claro wrapper is light, yellowish brown in color.

Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Greger Jean-louis II I have a question is the perdomo 30th anniversary line a limited w because the tobacco is aged 15 years what happens when all the 15 year tobacco runs out of stock . They can’t advertise the 25 year aged tobacco anymore?

NeptuneCigar.com They keep tobacco for every year the cigar is expected to stay in production so there is always new tobacco being aged . The cigar is limited because once all the leaves for that year have been used they go out of stock until the following year when more tobacco finishes the aging process.

I'm a big Perdomo fan so was very disappointed with this cigar. I've really enjoyed the 30th Maduro and Sungrown but this one's taste just didn't do it. Reminded me of a cheap boutique cigar doused in cologne. My wife tried it and said it was like inhaling perfume smoke. It was rolled nicely and lit easily, easy draw. It was just the taste that ruined it.

Very good draw. Possibly partly due to being quite dry when I got them. After a week or so they are up to about 63%. Very nice. Hey, they’re Perdomo. What’s not to like ! Not box pressed. Just fyi.

Excellent but better if they weren’t a bit dry. RH was too low when received. That said, a good offering from the Perdomo masters. As someone noted, the ones I got were round, they were not box pressed.

Firm construction with an easy open draw and even burn. Started out rather harsh with that salty/sour flavor some Connecticuts seem to have then it mellowed out in the last half and I got more nuttiness with cedar and spice notes.

Smoked one this morning with a coffee. Best Connecticut I've smoked. Notes of cedar, honey, citrus, light coffee, and a really nice clove spice on light-up. This clove was unique; I've never gotten that note before. Perfect construction: Draw and burn were on-point. I highly recommend.
