The Kristoff Vengeance has returned... with a vengeance. Not seen since its disappearance in 2011, the Vengeance has been brought back in a slightly different iteration, which finds it using a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper (a first for the brand) in place of the Brazilian Maduro leaf found in the original, along with a modified filler blend that equals a tweaked take on an old favorite. This full-bodied Nicaraguan-made cigar is only available through TAA retailers nationwide, meaning it still won't be too easy to find. Stock up before it's gone once again.

The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Tobacco is grown in many islands of the Archipelago but, as far as cigars are concerned, Sumatra and Java are the ones. Sumatra Wrappers are worldwide known. Central Java (Vorstenland) and East Java (Besuki) give fillers and wrappers in abundance. Indonesia is a key country for cigar tobacco.

The first 1/3 of the cigar had a little spice but the expected flavors of chocolate, espresso and a definite graham cracker flavor quickly emerged. The next 1/3 was smooth and the same flavors continued with a little earth and wood emerging. The final 1/3 got stronger and a little spice returned. The burn was slow, even and never needed a touch up or relight. Produced plenty of smoke which had a nice tobacco, woody, sweet and chocolate aroma throughout the entire cigar.

This was a good cigar. I can't remember the old blend, but I think they did a great job. Construction was on point and the look of this stick shouts BALLER to anyone around. Smoke production was "social", you could smoke this at a poker table for example or outside and not be looked at as a fire hazard. On a personal (and subjective) note, I prefer smaller vitolas nowadays. Looking forward to trying this in a corona, Robusto or lancero size. So I took off a cpl stars just for that. Otherwise I think this si as good as advertised.

Usually when a cigar comes off the market it is never seen again. Luckily for me, this one came back with a vengeance. The Kristoff Vengeance 660 now sports a beautiful USA Connecticut Broadleaf Wrapper giving it a nice oily chocolatey appearance. The Cigar also has an Indonesian binder and to top it off, a pigtail cap! A mixture of Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers were used in the making of this cigar, which I have to say is quite intriguing. The notes found in this cigar are an extreme amount of coffee/espresso along with chocolate and good amount of earthiness to it. You will get hints of cocoa and a bit of what seems like honey. If you like a good strong coffee/chocolate with very minimal amount of spice, look no further. Overall, an extremely smooth cigar for its appearance and amazing flavors. This is definitely more on the medium-full side and I recommend having a good scotch or bourbon with it to max out the coffee and chocolate flavors!

I believe it is hard to bring a cigar back to life once it is off the market. Kristoff has changed my mind completely about that. I present to you the Kristoff Vengeance! This is a great cigar for those looking for a great medium to full-body smoke. The changes they made to this cigar compared to the original are all in the right direction. They gave it a nice, oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The pigtail cap makes it intriguing also, making it easy to just twist off instead of cutting the cigar in the traditional way (And yes, you still get the same amount of smoke.) They also gave it an Indonesian binder and the mixture of Dominican and Nicaraguan long-fillers. This combination gives it a great, complex taste. You are introduced to some hints of espresso upon the first light. As you get to the half way point of the cigar, a nice hint of creamy cocoa makes its presence known. That combination kept me wanting to smoke more of the cigar and see what else would unfold. Toward the end of the cigar, the espresso is still present, along with the cocoa, with hints of earth and leather making their way in. Overall, very consistent. Anyone searching for a great medium to full-bodied smoke, I will definitely recommend the Kristoff Vengeance.

At first light the cigar is full bodied and has a bit of a pepper blast. After the first few draws the pepper went away and it lost it initial blast of strength. Fine for me. The rest of the cigar took on a black coffee profile which lasted down to the numb.
