The Micallef Black is a bespoke cigar that was created to please the palates of the brand’s most devoted fans, aka the Micallef Ambassador group. The fans wanted a more potent cigar from their beloved brand. Micallef listened and tasked Joel and Edel Gomez-Sanchez, their exclusive blenders, to create a blend that is smooth, sophisticated, flavorful, and full-strength. After three years of trying different blend combinations, they finally settled on a specific one for the Micallef Black. The blend consists of premium Nicaraguan filler leaves housed in an Ecuadorian binder and a mouthwatering Mexican San Andres maduro wrapper. From first puff to last, this impressive smoke balances strength with flavor, and it is known for its complexity and smoothness.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

Mexican San Andres Maduro
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Mexican tobacco is very dark and the best leaves can be used as maduro wrappers. San Andres Maduro is a thick, medium bodied dark leaf, also called San Andres Morron. Like Connecticut Broadleaf, San Andres Maduro is stalk cut and used for binder and wrapper.

Habano Ecuador
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Habano Ecuador is a Cuban-seed tobacco that is grown and cultivated in Ecuador using traditional Cuban methods.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Really solid smoke. Very short after taste; really subtle flavors initially. Unbelievably smooth and some spice starts to come forward halfway through the cigar. Lots of mild vanilla, milk chocolate, pepper notes. Really fleeting flavors throughout the smoke which makes it superb to me. I haven’t smoked a better cigar at this price point.

Uneven burn and hard pull, started to canoe after an inch and the. Fixed itself a little paste halfway. A lot work on the first one. Nice appearance. Some of their other blends are much better.
