The Plasencia family has a rich history of five generations in the cigar and tobacco industry. Today, the Plasencias are one of the leading premium cigar producers in the world and the largest grower of tobacco in Nicaragua and Honduras, employing over 6,000 people in their operation. In 2016, the family released a high end smoke called “Alma Fuerte” and in 2017 they added the “Alma del Campo”. According to Nestor Plasencia Jr., these cigars are made with “immense passion and a rich family heritage”.
