  The H. Upmann 1844 Special Edition Barbier cigar with its striking barber pole wrapper is an excellent expression of the fine art of cigar crafting. It is also a tribute cigar to the brand’s founder’s German roots. “Barbier” is German for barber. The wrapper combines an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade leaf with an Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed leaf to create its lovely contrasting barber-pole appearance. Also, the two leaves add depth to the cigar’s delightful smoking experience. The wrapper sheaths an Indonesian binder and a filler composed of Nicaraguan, Dominican Republic, and undisclosed broadleaf leaves.
