The Plasencia Year of the Dragon is the fourth release by Plasencia Cigars crafted to welcome the Chinese New Year (aka The Lunar New Year). The cigar is an all-Nicaraguan puro made from tobacco that was grown on farms owned by Plasencia. This is a limited-edition cigar that is handmade by Plasencia Cigars in Nicaragua. The cigars wear three bands that symbolize the Dragon and feature the Plasencia brand. They are stored in a collectible box that represents the Dragon. In the Chinese Zodiac, one of the many traits the Dragon represents is a drive for achieving exceptional standards of excellence. According to Nestor Andres Plasencia, CEO of Plasencia Cigars, “the Dragon is an animal that perfectly represents our family’s drive for excellence.”

The Torpedo was traditionally a fat cigar with two closed, tapered ends. Today, it is any cigar with a cut foot and straight body which tapers to a closed, pointed head.

Most cigars are round in shape, as this is how the cigars are rolled by the torcedor.

This cigar is 6"1/2 inches long, or 165.1 mm.

Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
