Henry Clay Cigars

Henry Clay Cigars

This brand, originally made in Cuba, was named after Henry Clay (1777-1852), a 19th century politician who has been proclaimed greatest Senator in American history. The label on the box shows the original Henry Clay factory in Havana. For a long time this brand was a clear Havana cigar which means that it was manufactured in the United States with 100% Cuban tobacco.

In 1986, Consolidated Cigar Co. (now ALTADIS) purchased American Cigar Co. and acquired the rights to the Henry Clay brand. Today the brand is manufactured by Altadis at their factory Tabacalera de Garcia in Dominican Republic. The wrapper is Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro, the binder is Dominican and the filler is a blend of Dominican long filler tobaccos.
