Description
The Rocky Patel Sapphire is the latest addition to Rocky Patel’s gemstone-inspired line, following Gold Label and Emerald. Crafted at Patel’s Tavicusa factory in Nicaragua, Sapphire combines a Mexican San Andrés wrapper with Nicaraguan fillers from Estelí, Jalapa, and Condega, plus two binders; one from Estelí and one from the Jamastran Valley in Honduras, all sourced entirely from Patel-owned farms. Designed as a medium-to-full-bodied smoke, Sapphire uses slightly older, six to seven-year-old tobaccos for a richer, higher-end experience than Emerald. The line comes in four sizes: robusto, toro, gordo, and corona gorda, packaged in polished, gem-shaped 20-count boxes. These cigars are available exclusively through select retailers. Sapphire promises the kind of layered complexity and consistency that Rocky Patel fans have come to expect.

Someone gave me one of these and I was amazed. A great dark chocolatey flavor that developed nicely throughout the course of the cigar with notes of earth, leather, and roasted nuts mixed in at different times. This was a great experience, and before I even finished it I came here to Neptune to order more of them. I'm also ordering a few of the robustos and will see how those are when they arrive. If they're anything like this corona gorda, they'll be great.

This was a smoky cigar, smoke just rolling off it, maybe it was the petite V cut or maybe just the cigar. I got notes of leather, oak, cocoa. I enjoyed the cigar, not one I would smoke everyday as it’s a heavy flavor profile. I would and will buy again.
