It had been a while since I had one of these and was quickly reminded of how good they are. This is a GREAT smoke and should be on everyone’s list of favorites. No complaints at all. Everything’s perfect.

I wasn't sure how to write this review. I've had My Father cigars previously and had no issues. However, this box was how shall I say...disappointing. when I grabbed the box to open it I noticed that the labels sealing the lid were pulling away from the box. This caught my eye as this indicates that the box was drying out. Once the labels were cut to open the box, I raised the latch and began lifting the lid. At that point the entire box just about disintegrated. The lid and back of the bottom of the box came completely off. Another indication of dryness. I thought ok...the cigars should be ok....I was wrong... I took one and gently squeezed it and it was hard. Pretty dry.....I decided to smoke it and although the flavor was still good the outer wrapper disintegrated completely. I have put these cigars in their own humidor with high humidity to hopefully save the rest as these were not cheap cigars. There they will sit for a few months and hopefully regain their moisture. I don't know...maybe this box was not kept in a humidor but needless to say I was quote disappointed.

Based on the other reviews, I'm wondering if I got a sub par stick. I've never been disappointed with My Father until I tried the No 6 Toro Gordo. I used a V-cut and the draw was terrible, after about ten minutes of trying to get a good draw and keep it lit, I re-cut it with a straight cut. The draw was much better, but it still kept going out. I re-lit this cigar at least six times. After the sixth time it went out, I tried packing it down and then cut the foot. That still did not help. I did manage to keep it lit for a little bit longer but when it went out on the seventh time, I gave up. I enjoyed the aroma (when it was lit) but there was nothing exceptional about the taste. Maybe I was too pre-occupied trying to keep it lit to notice any of the notes but nothing really stood out to me.

I usually choose the cousin to this stick (Jaime Garcia Toro Gordo). This is a good option when my Jaime's are out of stock and I wasn't disappointed. Good complex flavor profile, nice spice, and a full taste. Rolled and burned well. A tad pricier than I usually go, but I found the value good. Will defintitely smoke again.

DANGER!!!!! If you like any My Farther cigars you'll absolutely love this one. I got Cedar, Spice and nuts from the one I had. I'll definitely be adding these to my humidor.
