Dark chocolate, espresso, spice, and earth unfold in bold harmony in the Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Concerto, a medium-to-full bodied, box-pressed Nicaraguan puro crafted entirely from AJ Fernández’s prized tobaccos. The star of the show, the wrapper, is an AJ exclusive hybrid Criollo ’98 wrapper and aged filler from the first harvest at AJ's Los Espejos farm nearly 12 years ago. This latest entry in the Quattro Nicaragua line continues the collaboration between Rafael Nodal and AJ Fernández with a blend that’s rich, refined, and deeply rooted in Nicaraguan terroir.

I waited for this release to review it, being a fan of Aging Room and their Quattro Sonata I had to try this one. It comes in their usual variety of sizes, but since it's a Criollo I decided to try the Grande 6 by 60 (my size preference for many brands). It starts with a vibrant, nutty profile and sweet cocoa tobacco notes. The balance of spice notes is something Aging Room does phenomenally and it shows with this cigar because as I got halfway through, the spice took the front seat with the sweet tobacco and nutty profile accenting. Lots of rich smoke and plume, the cigar definitely picks up in the final third and shows some strength with the oils bringing back the cocoa and nutty notes of the Criollo. I paired this with a coconut water for the first time and then my choice of amaretto chilled for the second time, enjoying it down to the nub each time. Highly recommend this cigar for anybody who enjoys a balance of sweet notes with mild spice accents, and would recommend it for my medium to full body smokers.
