The Carrillo Inch Nicaragua is considered the most potent stick in this storied line of thick ring-gauge cigars. A true Nicaraguan puro from wrapper to filler, it is the first time that Carrillo has crafted a cigar outside of the Dominican Republic. The tobaccos used in this formidable cigar come from three of Nicaragua’s top-tobacco regions: Esteli, Jalapa, and Condega. This carefully composed blend offers a full-bodied yet flavorful smoking indulgence. The cigars are handmade by Plasencia Cigars in Nicaragua.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Natural wrapper, also known as Colorado Claro, is light brown in color.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

One of the best I'vehad in a while. Perfect construction, nice even ash, flavors of leather, toast, wood, and mushrooms. This is one to take your time with. I had to finish with a number! I want more of these.

Received as monthly sampler order. Bigger ring size than I'm used too. Earthy, mild spice flavor. Good draw and Burn. Elegant Cigar. Paired with Apple Brandy on rocks. Fall/winter cigar. Would recommend.

If you are a fan of EPC... or Plasencia... or better yet, both... you absolutely must give this stick a try. The Inch Nicaragua is the love child of two world renown cigar makers...E.P. Carrillo & Nestor Andres Plasencia, who worked hand in hand to create this beauty. It is actually the first EPC cigar that is not produced in their factory in Santiago, DR. It is also composed of 100% Nicaraguan tobaccos (Jalapa, Condega & Esteli respectively), rolled to perfection by Plasencia Cigars in Esteli. This is considered to be the boldest Inch cigar produced to date, and after giving one a test drive, I must agree with that assessment. While definitely creeping into full body territory, the smoke produces rich molasses, almost butterscotch like notes in droves that help keep the peppery bite in check. With that being said, don't be nervous, it shouldn't beat you up too badly. They are well packed and feel quite dense to the touch. Construction is impeccable as you would imagine. The stick required very little in the way of guidance or corrections, and I am hard pressed to come up with any complaints. I paired mine with a double shot of espresso from one of my favorite local joints, Panther Coffee. A perfect combination for a balmy Miami evening. Cheers.
