According to Robert Caldwell, Founder of Caldwell Cigars, “Agroindustrias Laepe produces the best cigars in Honduras.” And, the Blind Man’s Bluff Connecticut is proof positive of their cigar craftsmanship. Mild in strength, the Blind Man’s Bluff Connecticut sports a light tan Ecuadorian Connecticut shade wrapper that is expertly draped over Honduran Criollo binder and a blended filler made of premium tobaccos from Honduras and the Dominican Republic. The Blind Man’s Bluff Connecticut is a medium-bodied, well-balanced cigar that offers notes of spice, cedar, and fruit and with hints of vanilla and pepper.
Cigar Origin
Honduras
Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Honduras, a Central American country which shares a border with Nicaragua, is widely known in the premium cigar industry as the ideal place to grow Cuban and Connecticut seed tobaccos. Danli and the Jamastran Valley is considered the heart of Honduras’ cigar industry. The Jamastran Valley is known for producing a full-bodied tobacco that draws strong comparisons to the tobacco grown in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. This same region is also known for its Connecticut shade grown and Corojo shade grown tobacco. In addition, Honduras produces Cuban-seed sun grown filler tobaccos of the highest quality.

Wrapper
Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
The main tobacco region in the Dominican Republic is the Cibao valley in the northern part of the island. In the 60s, Cuban seeds were brought here by exiled Cuban cigar makers and found that they grew exceptional cigar tobacco, called Piloto Cubano. The Caldwell Long Live The Queen cigar is an extension to the popular Royal flush line of boutique cigars, which includes the Long Live the King cigars. The Queen cigar features a savory, red-hued Cameron wrapper that cloaks a Sumatra binder, and filler leaves from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. This exotic four-nation blend offers a flavorful medium-bodied smoking experience. The cigars are handmade in the Dominican Republic at the El Maestro factory, which is owned by William Ventura.

The Caldwell Lost andFound Blue Collar is part of the Lost&Found series of small batch cigars. Each release of the Blue Collar line will feature a different blend and will be available at a wallet-friendly price. The Lost andFound is a special project founded by Robert Caldwell and Jaclyn Sears of Caldwell Cigars and Tony Bellatto of La Barba Cigars. The project was conceived during Caldwell’s travels through Caribbean and Central American cigar factories where he would find carefully aged and well-maintained cigars that were once popular or limited releases. The cigars left a memorable impression on the team, so they decided to re-introduce them to the cigar-smoking world. The sticks are repackaged and re-released as limited-run cigars. Portions of the proceeds from the sale of Lost&Found cigars will be donated to charity.

The all new Caldwell The King is Dead by AJ Fernandez is not a tweaked version of the original. It is a reimagined, re-engineered creation that was secretly developed by Caldwell Cigars and AJ Fernandez. Strong and flavorful, the Caldwell The King is Dead by AJ Fernandez sports a dark, inviting maduro wrapper supported by a binder and filler made of aged Nicaraguan tobacco. Only 250 boxes of 25 cigars were made, and once they’re gone, they won’t be coming back. The Caldwell The King is Dead by AJ Fernandez is expertly hand crafted in Nicaragua.
