Questions and Answers
Visit the Antillian Cigar Corp site!
The Sosa family has been making cigars since the early 1900s, first in Cuba and later in the Dominican Republic. Today, Sosa Classic Cigars are produced in the Tabacalera A. Fuente factory, under the supervision of master blender Juan B. Sosa. The tobaccos used in this blend are aged for a minimum of 3 years and finished with a medium brown Ecuador Sumatra wrapper. It is a well constructed, high quality smoke with hints of sweetness and cedar.
The Torpedo was traditionally a fat cigar with two closed, tapered ends. Today, it is any cigar with a cut foot and straight body which tapers to a closed, pointed head.
Most cigars are round in shape, as this is how the cigars are rolled by the torcedor.
This cigar is 6"1/2 inches long, or 165.1 mm.
Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.
Cigar Ring Gauge
The cigar ring gauge corresponds to the diameter of a cigar, this cigar has a ring gauge of 54, so his diameter is 54/64 inches or 21.34 mm.
Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Colorado is a medium brown color also known as EMS or English Market Selection as this used to be the color with more popularity in England than in America.
Handmade cigars are completely made by hand from start to finish.
The company's official name is Antillian Cigar Corporation, established by Cuban exile and cigarmaker Juan Sosa and now run by his sons. Most of their cigars are made at Tabacalera Arturo Fuente in the Dominican Republic, with a few made in Miami and Honduras.
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. Ecuador supplies Connecticut and Sumatra type wrappers to many cigar factory in the world.
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

What an out standing smoke... just off the hook perfect..... can't tell you how much I enjoy these...
My personal favorite
Very surprising stick in a positive way. You could think that $8 is a lot for a brand not so well known, but it is really worth. Not the best stick ever smoked, but not any particular default. Very flavored for a Dominican, who are not usually my favorites. Will buy again.
My first Sosa and I really enjoyed the great taste and easy draw. Well worth the money. The only downside would be the burn..could not get it to even out!! Neptune may be the best cigar store in the area...easy to order, good prices and they really seem to care.
Bon cigare. Roulage un peu serré et cape un peu trop maduro pour mon goût.
