CAO Cameroon Churchill 6 7/8 * 48, Box of 20

CAO Cameroon cigars are wrapped with Grade One African Cameroon wrapper and filled and bound with rich, earthy Nicaraguan tobacco. The result is a mild to medium, sweet, spicy, coffee and caramel laden smoke. One of the mildest cigars of the CAO brand, the Cameroon has been rated 92 by Cigar Aficionado.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Colorado is a medium brown color also known as EMS or English Market Selection as this used to be the color with more popularity in England than in America.
Wrapper
Cameroon
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Cameroon wrappers are grown in the East part of the country. The growing area spreads over the eastern border, into the Central African Republic. Wrappers are air grown, without fertilizers and pesticides, by small farmers. The average plantation size is about one acre. The seed is originally from Sumatra, introduced in the country just after WWII.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Joe Now that I have a humidor with a boveda packet should I take the cellophane wrapping off the cigars while laying in the humidor.

NeptuneCigar.com Whether you keep the wrapper on or take it off is up to you. Cellophane is pourous and will allow the humidity to reach the cigar. If you are aging the cigar, you may want to take it out of the wrapper to allow it to breathe. If you travel with your cigars, you may want to leave the cellophane on to protect the cigar wrapper.

This little perfecto surprised me. I was not expecting it to be bad by any means, but, being an inexpensive small cigar, I assumed it would be mediocre at best...something to smoke on while taking the dog around the block, etc. In actuality, it was excellent. While not being incredibly complex, it is well constructed and pumped out a decent amount of smoke. it also burned impeccably, and did not require any touch ups or relights, despite the foot starting out nearly as thin as a pencil. The flavor profile was somewhat typical for a Cameroon cigar....sweet, nutty, earthy, with subtle hints of cocoa / coffee. For just over $5.00, it is hard to say no to this little guy. AF Short Story fans seriously need to take note.... if your Short Stories are not available, or if you just feel like saving a couple of bucks.... this stick is for you. Try pairing with a Café con leche morning, noon or night and you will not be dissapointed. Cheers.

Morning cigar and coffee...the Sunday tradition.....Still on the Cameroon train did a CAO Cameroon Robusto. One of the few plugged NC's I have ever had...disappointing. Used the Perfecdraw to render it smokeable. Decent cigar with good flavor and medium mild, but clearly not the same Cameroon profile from the 1990's. Would not suspect this would be a Cameroon in a blind smoke. Once again a solid cigar but nothing I would seek out as nothing unique here.

A very mild an easy smoke. Consistent throughout each third. Mild woods, some dry, some wet. Burned well and made well, however definitely not recommended to those that want to experience the journey of a cigar. I would smoke another but wouldn’t go out of my way to track down a box. A good cigar if you are introducing a new smoker to cigars. Light to medium body, no unique challenge though.

Under-rated cigar imo -- one of my go to mild to medium sticks. Smooth and buttery w/ some almond & caramel like flavors. Consistent burn. My only con is that the draw on some are a little too open/loose for my taste and causes it to burn a little fast - 45min to 1hr&15min. Just don't rush it and burn it too hot. Overall, great cigar for the value.

A good cigar, but it could have been better. The wrapper fell apart in the cold, and the draw was way to firm for the first 15 minutes. Mine had an uneven burn that required touch-ups, but it could have been the windy conditions I was in. On the good side it has a great woody aroma and taste to it that lasted me about 45 minutes to smoke it to the nub.

I tend to prefer more full body cigars, but tried one of these recently just to change it up a bit. I was pleasantly surprised by this cigar. Burn was a bit uneven and had to be touched up a couple of times on the one that I had, but could have been all user error. Still a wonderful cigar that I would recommend to anyone.

This Cameroon ranks up there with the best of them. The wrapper is slightly veiny but still has a nice look with the box-press. The draw was good through such a long stick. The burn was perfectly even all the way down. The taste and aroma are great with a rich flavor. I would rank this light to medium but more on the medium side. One of the best Cameroons around!
