Diamond Crown Julius Caeser is an exquisite cigar launched on the 135th anniversary of JC Newman's founder's birthday, Julius Caeser Newman, and the 115th anniversary of the cigar company. The blend is made of robusto tobaccos from Central America.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

Ecuadorian Habano
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuadorian Habano wrapper has become one of the most used cigar wrappers in the market. Grown primarily by the Oliva family, this tobacco originated from Habano or H2000 seeds brought to Ecuador from Cuba. This leaf is rich and flavorful thanks to the temperate climate of Ecuador and the quality of its volcanic soil.

Dominican Republic
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Dominican Republic is a traditional tobacco-growing country. In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.

Filler (or “tripa” in Spanish) is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar. Olor Dominicano and Piloto Cubano are the main types of tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic.

Really complex full bodied flavor on this one. The floral notes really stand out if you're not used to them, but they never overwhelm the rest of the blend. It lost some points on the burn as it needed to be touched up a few times. Probably just bad luck and I intend to get more in the future.

This was a decent smoke. A few cracks in the wrapper made the burn a little off on this. Good draw, aside from cracks the construction and look of the cigar was good. Thought the taste was a touch above average on this. Creamy cedar, earth, and some spice. Smooth finish. Need to give this another shot!

Nutty and well balanced, not too sweet but not savory with woody aroma and taste akin to those found in Cuban cigars. Perfect draw and superb burn with loads of smoke (all up a 45 to 55 minutes smoke). This cigar will deliver the same consistent note from start to finish, well worth keeping a few stocked.

These were all excellent cigars, but perhaps not as top-notch as I had anticipated. I had the highest expectations for the Julius Caesar, but it was the blandest of the bunch. Or maybe I just got a weaker instance. That happens sometimes. The others were satisfying and flavorful. All looked great and smoked evenly. Some had more complexity than others.

Very easy to light. Very good construction and burn with slight unevenness. Excellent draw producing voluminous smoke. Slightly oily on palate with full mouth feel. Medium strength with medium to full flavors. Initial cocoa and cinnamon with a black pepper punch. Medium length finish of coffee, cream and a lingering black pepper spice

Judging a book by its cover, I had high expectations for this cigar. It comes packaged in an elegant, luxurious leather box lined with purple felt, and boasts the famous Roman general on the band. I'm happy to say that it met and exceeded my expectations! Right from the start, I was overwhelmed with nice notes of wood and a mellow spice. Towards the beginning it burned a bit unevenly, but it quickly corrected itself and then remained consistent throughout. As I got to the midway point, the flavors introduced upon lighting suddenly became super rich and I detected a subtle taste of leather creep its way in as well. I have to say that I was very impressed with everything about this cigar, and can see why it's a bit on the pricier side: much like its box, it is PREMIUM in every sense of the word.
