The original Punch cigar was created in 1840 by a Cuban cigar manufacturer named Manuel Lopez. In an effort to attract the British market, he named the cigar after Mr. Punch of the Punch and Judy puppet shows. Produced in Honduras under the direction of Cuban cigar master Frank Llaneza, Punch has been a leading premium brand since 1969.

Honduras, a Central American country which shares a border with Nicaragua, is widely known in the premium cigar industry as the ideal place to grow Cuban and Connecticut seed tobaccos. Danli and the Jamastran Valley is considered the heart of Honduras’ cigar industry. The Jamastran Valley is known for producing a full-bodied tobacco that draws strong comparisons to the tobacco grown in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. This same region is also known for its Connecticut shade grown and Corojo shade grown tobacco. In addition, Honduras produces Cuban-seed sun grown filler tobaccos of the highest quality.

Ecuador supplies Connecticut and Sumatra type wrappers to many cigar factory in the world.

USA Connecticut Broadleaf tobacco is grown in the Connecticut River Valley area. The soil in this region is of glacial origins. The tobacco is dark, oily, flavorful, and aromatic. It is used primarily as a maduro wrapper, but it also serves as an excellent binder.

Saul Abrams Hey. I bought this sampler a couple times. Really liked the more full flavorful cigars in this group but don’t think I see a way to buy them themselves. I think they were the ones with the blue labels that said Classico but I’m not sure I’m seeing that as a purchase option.

The Punch Natural Double Corona is a pretty straight forward cigar. And often times, it’s what I’m looking for in a cigar. No eclectic notes of “buttered blueberry muffins,” “rum spice,” or “autumnal candy corn.” Just warm tobacco sweetness. And this long, lean stick has it in spades! Its rustic, reddish Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed wrapper had a bit of plume on the body. Prior to lighting, I did pick up some grassy notes along with the sweetness. As this double corona burned, the tobacco sweetness dominated but it was accompanied by faint notes of baker’s spice. As for the draw it was tight. Too tight for me. I had to work really hard to bring the air through this long body. It is why I typically stay away from cigars that are longer than six inches. However, the burn was sharp, but the ash leaned towards the dark side. Overall, this is a one-dimensional cigar, which is just fine if you’re anything like me and enjoy the soothing, soulful warmth that comes from tobacco aroma. As for strength, it started medium and creeped up to full without being overpowering. The only issue was the draw. However, it did loosen up at the halfway mark. Next time, I’ll choose their robusto or Rothschild. I’d pair it with an espresso (Cuban-style, aka colada).

I rarely give cigars if anything a 5 star review, however, being a long time smoker of Punch amongst other brands. They are one of a few that offer their cigars at a level of quality along with a great price. I would recommend Punch to any smoker as they’re mellow to medium (In my opinion) and pair well with anything. However, I always prefer a decent bourbon. Buy a box and you won’t be disappointed.

Never had a bad thing to say about Punch and hope I never will. I do prefer the Classic line although have had others from the brand. Thanks, as always, for the incredible free 2 Day Air delivery! My Punch Cigarillos arrived with each tin individually wrapped and quite fresh. A great cigarillo for serious cigar smokers as it delivers quite a Punch similar to the full-sized line. This is a relatively large cigarillo that smokes like a panatela. I find it lasts about twice as long as other cigarillos. And, yes, it will go out if unattended just like any other fine cigar. This is a medium to strong cigar with a nice toasted almond taste leading to a very peppery aftertaste which I find lasts right down to the end. These do tend to dry out so suggest a Boost pack in the tin once opened. Keeps them just right! Thanks again, Neptune, for yet another great deal!

Very well constructed but the flavor just wasn't for me. Very spicy, especially in the first third. If you like pepper and spice, this one may be for you. Heavy notes of leather and wood and the spice mellowed out as time went on, but the initial spice was too much for me.

I love my Punch cigars! Just recently tried this double corona (it's really just a little over a std corona). For me, this is more of an evening chilling on the patio with music and sipping rum, type of cigar. On the stronger side of medium and a nice spiciness to the finish. A nice 45min to hour smoke. Probably not good for a beginner.

Was expecting 15 min out of them but usually get at least 20. Skinnier than I'd like but I get a surprisingly good draw and steady burn for their slim size. Sure beats a cigarette any day...

Ok, I'm not a cigar aficionado, I'm just a guy who enjoys the occasional hand rolled. My go to is Punch Chateau M but, those have become virtually impossible to find of late so, I tried these, the Cafe Royales and, I have to say, I am most impressed. They are a very smooth smoke with an easy draw, absolutely love the taste. Of all the cigars I've tried over the years I would call these the Goldilocks standard, not too strong, not too weak, just right. So much so, these are now my new go to. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

I had high expectations for this stick since it was rated a 93 on CA but maybe it was just a bad cigar out of the batch. The draw was extraordinarily tight even with a V-cut. I had multiple relights interrupt my smoke time. I was unimpressed with the flavor as it was branded as a "full-bodied" cigar but was more like a mild cigar. These cigars were quite unevenly filled. Some of the tips and ends were almost hollow. Not one of my best purchases I'm afraid.

Since the days when Frank Llaneza first blended Punch and Hoyo de Monterey for Villazon thru the buy out by General Cigar, the Punch line has sold huge amounts of cigars annually. When I say huge amounts, I’m talking millions and millions of cigars.The Punch cigar is made in Honduras, now by General Cigar, and it’s a very fine cigar indeed. Rolled very well and very round. In all the years smoking these I’ve never had a plugged stick or a lop sided burn. Age the box for six months to a year and the ash will be white as snow, and the earthy flavor more creamy. These are one of my all time favorites. Always a sure bet.

"Punch satisfies", should be their slogan. This is probably my favorite cigar to have in the morning with a cup of coffee. The flavors of this cigar are akin to brownies being baked in the oven. Always consistent in the roll, burn, and draw, these fine cigars only get better with age.

a very good looking cigar, medium draw, (I tend to prefer a fairly hard draw) thus only 4 stars for me. the burn and the ash were consistently straight and even. now for the tast and aroma, (usually my first choice in a cigar is Dark/Strong/Sweet/Wet) after the first one, right out of the box I thought I may have made a bad choice, but after a few weeks in the humidor, and 2 or 3 more smoked I am beginning to appreciate them a lot more. a mild earthy flavor at the start producing a medium dense smoke, as you near the halfway point the smoke starts to thicken, and leathery/woody flavors start to emerge and some of the dryness starts to go away. past the 1/3 point the smoke is thicker and denser, (it's no Partagas Black Magnifico) and flavor, is a little grainy/nutty, and a bit sweeter, and moister. A good shot of espresso, and one of these sticks would be a good start to the day

These are a great medium cigar. Would serve well as a morning smoke or someone fairly new to cigars. They are constructed very well the draw is smooth, maybe a little on the light side. Very convenient that they are tubos. Easy to take with you when you are out. Flavores are not complex by any means but start with a light pepper and bready. The pepper mellows down in the middle and you can get a hint of banking spice in the. The pepper only comes back in the very end when the cigar gets hot. A great cigar to have around for when novice smokes come over or you are just looking for a nice easy smoke.
