OSOK "One Shot One Kill" cigars by Edgar Hoill are made in Honduras in collaboration with Christian Eiroa (creator of Camacho Cigars, and more recently, CLE Cigars). The names of the vitolas are all irreverent, amusing street insults in Spanish: Cabron, Callejero, Desmadroso, and Travieso. As irreverent perhaps as is Edgar Hoill, a renowned photographer who earned the nickname One Shot One Kill from his knack to capture powerful images without ever missing a shot. His cigars represent a lifestyle such as the one Edgar has captured through his lens along his career; OSOK is a Nicaraguan puro in four sizes: two perfectos and two with shaggy feet. If the name :sounds familiar, it is because Edgar Hoill previously worked with Matt Booth of Room 101, launching the Room 101 OSOK, a very successful limited edition.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Anonymous I think because the original release of the "OSOS - One Shot One Kill" brand was done as a limited edition in partnership with Matt Booth/Room101. The ones being sold here were released in partnership with Christian Eiora and the same partner, photographer Edgar Hoill, but they are not the same cigar. Sort of a "bait and switch" kind of thing by using the same branding to promote a totally different cigar, but if you do your research, you will know the difference.

Besides all the controversy surrounding it, this cigar catches your eye immediately because of the unusual name and presentation. The wrapper looks rustic with a lot of veins, smells sweet like figs, and very inviting to the palate. Once it is lit the first puffs start with a blast of pepper transitionig into a pleasant sweetness an inch or two later. The second third is about cocoa and coffee, smooth and flavorful, with floral notes on the background. The last third coffee and leather notes are the predominant flavors, with a little bit of leather, the strength pick up a little but has a nice smooth finish. Excellent draw and construction, nice gray ash, the cigar burned evenly most of the time and when it didn't ...it corrected itself. No need to relight it.

I put this cigar in my humidor and totally forgot about it!! I have been wanting to smoke this cigar merely for its packaging but it was so much more than looks!! I also love the salamone shape of this cigar. So glad I finally got to smoke his beautiful cigar. The first third was pretty much notes of sweet spice going into creamy and peppery notes -- love that combo. Continued into the second third with some complexity but pretty much same notes. The last third of the cigar picked up some notes of cocoa, coffee and cream -- notes of which I love. Overall the burn and draw were great -- did not relight once and did put it down several times as I was smoking this at work. It also had a very strong, long ash. For a full body cigar this was extremely smooth and full of flavor.

In the beginning, flavor of dark chocolate, hay and tobacco. After the first third, citrus fruit and cedar. Nice sweet taste remains in my mouth for long time.
