Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Connecticut Broadleaf is grown in the United States' Connecticut Valley and is prized for its dark, oily, full flavored and aromatic characteristics. The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
The San Andres region in Mexico is known for producing some of the best tobacco in the world. The tobacco is stalk cut and valued for its rich dark color and used to make noteworthy maduro wrappers and binders.

Rick You have 2 complaints and now mine as well why don't macanudo do something to fix cellophane on the esquisitos I quit buying them due to damaging cigars trying to remove them from wrapper

This is one super fine cigar. This cigar sports the long fermented, real, highly sought after, Connecticut wrappers. The taste and aroma of this cigar is phenomenal, with plenty of mellowed earth, creaminess, and saddle leather. A mild cigar with lots a aroma and flavor.

Some of the worst cigars I have ever had the misfortune of buying, compounded by the fact I bought two boxes. The draw is almost nonexistent: like sucking on a twig. The burn is erratic, sometimes getting a runner an inch or two ahead of the other side. And, a very harsh, bitter cigar. Not pleasant at all. I have never had an experience like this from a Macanudo. I think the real issue stems from the the small ring gauge and they simply are too incompetent to roll them properly.

Everything about this cigar is great. Took it out of glass tube and let it sit in humidor for three weeks. It is a well constructed cigar, all the right elements. There are notes of coffee and a bit of earth. I prefere a Partigas Black label crystal. The Mac just didn't have enough richness to inspire a second try, but for someone new to cigars it might be a real prize.

Got a few boxes to offer someone smoking with me. I'm personally not a huge fan of the taste - but they're not terrible, by any means. I ended up smoking them myself and going back to a Montecristo #3 for a companion cigar, as its a simpler taste, and easier to pallet for someone new/a seldom smoke. Had an inconsistent draw towards the last 1/2 of the cigar for about 1/4 of the ones I smoked. Not nearly as inconsistent as the Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 though. Had a great burn throughout. All in all, if I likes the flavor more, I would stick with them as a regular smoke, so is worth a try if you're looking for one.

These maduro ascot are great good maduro taste and a good size to stuff in your shirt pocket only drawback is the cellophane wrapper wish they would just fold the wrapper over top of cigars sometimes the tear off band comes off and you break the cigar trying to get it out of the cellophane wrapper.

All around pleasant experience with this cigar. Out of the tube, it has a beautiful appearance with the dark wrapper. Pre-light aroma and taste very earthy with faint notes of leather and coffee. Smoke is smooth and creamy, as you would expect from Macanudo, but with subtle sweetness. The draw was a little tight but nothing to cause problems, and once lit, it burned evenly and easily over a nice 45-60 minute session. Earthy was the dominant flavor for me, but notes of cocoa and dark roast coffee are there throughout. The flavor is pretty consistent all the way down to the finger burning nub I smoked this to. Its on the mild side of medium strength, and even as a novice cigar smoker, I quite enjoyed practicing my retrohale with this stick. I'm sure this mellow maduro will lose some luster as I go down the rabbit-hole of fuller strength cigars, but in the meantime I am very glad I ordered several of these.

An absolute flavor bomb of earthiness! Amazingly creamy, and the aroma is intoxicatingly wonderful! This is very much like the Partagas Black label without the strength. The only Macunudo I'll smoke.

Good medium strength cigar. Can stretch this cigar out for a relaxing 45 minute smoke. Draws evenly through whole smoke. Subtle hints of spice. No bad taste at the end.

A good 20 minute smoke. Toothy and tasteful with a sweet, hearty flavor profile. Poor burn and draw until the first third was hit and then it opened up. All in all, I enjoyed it even though I have not had good luck with larger vitola Macs.

I had smoked the Macanudo Maduro in the past and really enjoyed the cigar. I just ordered a few more and am totally disappointed. They were rolled extremely tight and drew very hard, they also tasted harsh and most of what I smoke is maduros. I will not buy anymore of these cigars. Ray J
