Alec Bradley Black Market Punk 4-Cigar Sampler

The Alec Bradley Black Market is a delicious smoke made with a dark, oily Nicaraguan wrapper. Instead of the traditional cigar band, this stick is wrapped with a paper sleeve on the foot. The binder is Sumatra tobacco and the filler is from Honduras and Panama. This is a smooth, creamy smoke with a bit of spiciness and citrus rich flavors. Fans of the Alec Bradley Tempus will love this one!

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Honduras, a Central American country which shares a border with Nicaragua, is widely known in the premium cigar industry as the ideal place to grow Cuban and Connecticut seed tobaccos. Danli and the Jamastran Valley is considered the heart of Honduras’ cigar industry. The Jamastran Valley is known for producing a full-bodied tobacco that draws strong comparisons to the tobacco grown in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. This same region is also known for its Connecticut shade grown and Corojo shade grown tobacco. In addition, Honduras produces Cuban-seed sun grown filler tobaccos of the highest quality.

This week I tried the Black Market by Alec Bradley. It had a beautiful Nicaraguan Maduro wrapper, but what called my attention to it most was the presentation. Once you take off the paper sheathe that showcases the name of the cigar, you're left with a very simple band. The contrast of the black and white against the maduro wrapper provide something nice to look at while you're smoking. As for the flavor, I got rich maduro notes of earth, chocolate, and coffee. The earth was not overbearing, though there was a lingering aftertaste of earth and leather throughout the cigar. Upon lightup and throughout the first third there was a nice bit of spice present on the tip of my tongue, though that disappeared throughout the later portions of the cigar. It was just enough to make the cigar interesting, without being overbearing. The construction was excelent, with a perfect draw and a burn that only required minor touch-ups throughout the rather long smoking time, well over an hour and a half. As far as pairings go, I would recommend something that can cut through the earthy profile of the cigar and lend some sweetness, like a coffee or even a Coke!

The Alec Bradley 6-cigar sampler is a great value with great Alec Bradley cigars. It provides a very nice variety of Alec Bradley products and allows you to sample before you buy a larger quantity of any one cigar. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes a good, smooth, great tasting cigar at a reasonable price.

Was not impressed at all with this cigar. I smoked a few of them, one with 9 months of age on it. Construction and burn weren't great. The most prominent flavor was a coffee note. I found the flavors to be muted and the overall profile to be subpar.

Great looking sampler. Bought one and put it in humidor for 14 days to acclimate properly. However, all smokes didn't have proper QC done. Magic Toast had a cracked foot and multiple thick stick/veins causing draw and burn issues. Had to use perfecdraw way too many times in this while sampler due to same issue. Just disappointing to see AB let this happen.

Great stick. Peppery, with notes of nuts, cinnamon, and sugar. The flavors are incredible paired with a good bourbon. I drank Angel's Envy. Personally, I had a Wassail Sour cocktail, save the Wassail syrup. This is a good smoke for someone who has tried cigars before and wants something a little stronger. It is also great for special occasions.

Never had a bad black market. The Torpedo isn't available where I live so was happy to get one. Love them. Not the best, but Alec Bradley cigars are reliably good. And interesting, which is important, even if it only comes in the form of gimmicky packaging that somehow tells you what to taste, rather than giving you an impression of the brand and then allowing you to see what's in the cigar. Good solid cigars though. But some, why not.

Not a Gordo fan because most of them draw tight for me as did this one and I see others had the same issue. Tightness aside i do like black markets and BM estelis a lot for their taste construction aroma and burn and this gordo was no exception. Started with a punch but had to cut the end to improve the draw about an inch in but the taste was excellent. I love the oily flavorful wrapper. Give yourself a good two hours atleast for this one...

Smooth tobacco taste with not quite unpleasant charred tobacco finish. Consistent burn, well constructed, mostly singular in flavor. No changes. OK. Worth trying. I don't think I'll buy again.

Good construction, nice wrapper, nice cap. Just not my taste. Got this on a recommendation that it'd be similar to the vegetal earthy cubano taste I like, but found this a little bitter and ashey tasting. Not a bad smoke, but not my style. I liked how nice and smooth the head was after cutting the cap.

Another one of my personal favorites. I favor a lot of Alec Bradley cigars. Their great taste and appearance draws me in. The Black Market is one of my favorites as it has a very natural taste that's not real earthy with a light sweetness to it and a very mild peppery taste that isn't real noticeable unless you really focus in on it. I favor darker wraps with a hint of natural sweetness and these are my preferred choice. I have had a couple that have burned unevenly, whether that's a common thing or just a funky batch as they were all out of the same box I can't say for sure. These cigars I feel are great for every day cigar smokers and even those starting out that want to venture into a darker leaf and see how they like it. Very good draw, the taste is phenomenal, they smell amazing, the label is really eye grabbing and the price on them is reasonable. I definitely recommend.

This is my second experience with the black market and i love it! The torpedo for me has a better draw than the gordo but the flavor profiles remain consistent between the two. A must buy!

Bought these at other smoke shop's, they were over priced compared to Neptun Cigar. Nice size cigar, taste is OK, good smoke and burn. A medium stick, there are others in the Alec Bradley that I prefer. But with the price at Neptune it us worth it's price.

Very well built. Packed solid, and beautiful with shiny wrapper, dark brown. Strength is medium, perhaps less than medium. Flavor is bountiful, too tempting to inhale the luscious smoke. The ash is fantastic, although it didn't burn perfect, having had to fix it twice. Nice mellow smoke, however there are better sticks for the price.

Solid medium body cigar. I got notes of leather, wood, hay, and some pepper during the 1st third, then it was just a smooth tobacco taste. Had a nice oily feel on my tongue and lips. Flavors didnt change much throughout the cigar but they were enjoyable, and the construction was great, so no complaints. Overall a decent cigar for a very fair price.

The first half was quite nice, with dominant flavors of leather and toasted oak. It was smooth with a medium to light body. About at the half way point, it started to take on a subtle bitter ashy quality that wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The burn was mostly good, but toward the end it got increasingly difficult to keep the cherry warm. The large paper wrapper was easy enough to remove before lighting, but the band underneath that was placed right at the middle of the cigar was quite difficult to get off. It required a bit of man-handling to finally remove it. Overall: not a bad cigar, but not one that I would buy again.

This is a beautiful tasty cigar. Draw was great and produced tons of terrific, aromatic smoke. Burn was great until about halfway then required a re-light. I will definitely try this one again. Make sure you have some time for this one. Mine burned for almost 90 minutes of enjoyment.

I just received the Sampler. The delivery was very fast from Neptune and the web page is excelent. BUT: with the sampler didn´t come the Prensado and the Maxx like says the description of the product. With the sampler came: Conneticut, Tempus, Family Blend The Linage, Nica Puro, American and Black Market. The lighter is very good quality.
