This iconic brand’s blend and packaging was re-imagined by Matt Booth of Room 101 Cigars in concert with Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) as a tribute to the original blend. The Double Maduro features an imposing dark chocolatey Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed wrapper draped over a Nicaraguan binder and a filler composed of Dominican and Nicaraguan leaves. The blend was carefully selected to give the Sancho Panza Double Maduro’s its unique smoking experience which expertly pairs the cigar’s strength with its complexity. The cigars are handmade in Honduras.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Honduras, a Central American country which shares a border with Nicaragua, is widely known in the premium cigar industry as the ideal place to grow Cuban and Connecticut seed tobaccos. Danli and the Jamastran Valley is considered the heart of Honduras’ cigar industry. The Jamastran Valley is known for producing a full-bodied tobacco that draws strong comparisons to the tobacco grown in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. This same region is also known for its Connecticut shade grown and Corojo shade grown tobacco. In addition, Honduras produces Cuban-seed sun grown filler tobaccos of the highest quality.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. Ecuador supplies Connecticut and Sumatra type wrappers to many cigar factory in the world.

Nicaraguan Esteli
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
The Esteli region of Nicaragua is well-regarded for producing some of the finest tobacco in the world. Tobacco grown in this area is valued for its aroma, flavor, and strength.

Dominican Republic
Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
Filler (or “tripa” in Spanish) is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar. The Dominican Republic is considered one of the most premier tobacco growing countries in the world. The filler tobacco grown in this Caribbean island nation ranges from mild to full bodied. Olor Dominicano and Piloto Cubano are the main types of tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic.

Nice looking cigar with too light of a draw, too little taste and bitter mouthfeel in the initial 1/3. Thereafter, a very nice balanced smoke; with still, a little too light of a draw for my preference.

This box-pressed stick, I actually ordered on a lark, because my wife loves “Man of La Mancha.” I'm honestly quite impressed. The construction is solid, no unraveling or cracking at all, and the flavor is extremely enjoyable. Nothing complex, but a comforting combination of deep earth and leather from beginning to end. It needed some touch-ups, but overall a pretty clean burn. I really like this smoke, and will be ordering more.

very attractive Broadleaf wrapper; silky smooth. dense and weighty in hand. i enjoyed this much more than the Cervantes. burns evenly without any touch ups or relights. if you are a fan of mild to light medium smokes, it's not a bad choice. however if you're after an affordably priced Broadleaf wrapper, there are much better options for you in the similar price range

Nice looking cigar with a great draw and consistent burn. It's a simple smoke, not going to overwhelm you with complexity, but it's smooth, rich, and very very well priced. Get over an hour out of this little guy. This is an easy box buy for me.
