  The Excalibur 1066 Maduro, named after King Arthur's sword and the historic Battle of Hastings, boasts a flavorful Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper and a combination of Honduran, Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos. This cigar was released after General Cigars sent samples of two blends to cigar smokers and asked them to choose which blend they preferred. The winner became the Excalibur 1066.

The Jamastran Valley is known for producing a full-bodied tobacco that draws strong comparisons to the tobacco grown in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. This same region is also known for its Connecticut shade grown and Corojo shade grown tobacco. In addition, Honduras produces Cuban-seed sun grown filler tobaccos of the highest quality.

Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.
