Pepin Garcia's son, Jaime, also a very talented cigar maker created this cigar as a tribute to his father, a well known cigar legend launched to fame with the Tatuaje cigar brand. Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Colorado maduro wrapper is milk chocolate brown.

Ecuadorian
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. Ecuador supplies Connecticut and Sumatra type wrappers to many cigar factory in the world.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

The "Garcia Family Industrial Park" located in Esteli, Nicaragua is a seven-acre complex with 9 buildings, over 1900 employees, where the Garcias supervise their cigar production from the tobacco field to the roller's table. Their Miami headquarters house 12 rollers that make all of the company's "handmade in Miami" brands.

The first one didn't make much of an impression, second one, despite having a crack in the wrapper, was much better. Tougher draw than I would have expected, had to relight twice but very nice blend, coffee and leather with a pepper hint toward the end. There are better ones by My father but this is a very enjoyable stick.

I usually choose the cousin to this stick (Jaime Garcia Toro Gordo). This is a good option when my Jaime's are out of stock and I wasn't disappointed. Good complex flavor profile, nice spice, and a full taste. Rolled and burned well. A tad pricier than I usually go, but I found the value good. Will defintitely smoke again.

Very unpleasant smoke. The draw was extremely hard. Even tried cutting a little more without destroying cap and also piercing. No luck. It almost burned like overhumid but it has been sitting in 68% humidor for months. And measured 68-70 with probe prior to lighting. Perhaps myfather cigars better at 62-65%? Dunno Either way it was not good. Having to draw this hard gives hot and unpleasant smoke. Getting to not like this brand since so many have this draw problem that I don’t experience with others (and in same humidor). Perhaps time to put MF cigars in my 65% humidor instead of the 69 one. We’ll see.

It was, alright? Perhaps it the nature of this size, but the burn was difficult to maintain and went all over the place, having to relight a few times. Flavor was just alright, almost difficult to enjoy because of the burn. The format was novel and I was looking forward to trying it, but the construction here is not on par with the Panatela.

I normally really like My Fathers Cigars, but this one disappoints. I had one and didn’t like, waited to have another before reviewing it, and they both had a terrible draw, extremely tight. They start a bit harsh, and get better as they sweeten but they are bitter throughout. It’s a bummer because they aren’t cheap. Maybe just a bad batch, but I won’t be repeating.

An intense Lancero with lots of rich flavour. The wrappers are immaculate and when they draw the flavour is there and it is a very nice smoke. Sadly, I've had a few plugged examples of late which brings the score down as these sticks were horrible. The ones that do work though are brilliant.

Perfection rolled into a Gorgeous Cigar. Veinless habano rosado wrapper that is immaculate. Solid, you can feel the expertise rolled on this seamless Cigar. Draw is Amazing, the standard for everyone to follow. Was so excited to smoke this beauty that I did not even do a cold draw. Once lit, a mouthful of spicy smoke greets you. Burn was razor sharp, with ash holding for 2 inches under windy conditions. After a 1st/3rd dominated by spice, there a smooth transition giving way to tasty tobacco with a mild earthy walnut flavor. Mild flavored but full strength without being overpowering, just perfect. Smoke volume is also Perfect, one puff gives you a mouthful of smoth earthy goodness. Last 3rd gets a bit darker, with tobacco balanced with a little spice. Aged a week short of 4 months. I truly enjoyed this Cigar.

This is a very nice cigar, not blown away but very enjoyable. The draw is perfect with lots of smooth and creamy smoke. The wrapper kept unraveling as I smoke but did not affect the burn. The first inch was spicy and a bit harsh and then it was smooth all the way. Flavor was mostly tabacco earth and spice. I will buy some more in the future.

If your a fan of lanceros this is truly one of the best! Many are rolled very tight and dont draw well but this draws perfectly and the ash holds on longer than any other lancero ive smoked. Great flavor with a lot of peppery spice and also packs quite a nicotine punch

From its elaborate and tastefully ornate band to its rose-tinted Ecuadorian Colorado maduro wrapper, the My Father No. 1 robusto is one eye-catching stick, that definitely got my attention. Typically, I’m not a big fan of heavily decorated bands, but this one seemed to capture the essence of old-style cigar bands without being too flashy or overdone. As for the wrapper, it could not be any more perfect even though its veins were a little visible. The construction was firm with very little give. The aroma coming off the body and foot was all tobacco with some spice. The cold draw was effortless, and the flavor coming through it was spicy. Once lit, it delivered a rich tobacco flavor with more of the spice coming through. The retro-hale had a strong peppery feel. Its long spicy finish danced on my tongue for some time. From the first to the final third, the flavor profile stayed consistent. Overall, the draw was perfect, and the burn was sharp. Strength-wise, it was a medium to full-strength cigar that did not fight the warm tobacco flavor. I’d recommend the My Father No. 1 robusto to aficionados who like a well-made stick that has a consistent flavor.

I'm pretty new to cigars but I have managed to pull some flavors such as nuts, chocolate and cedar off of a cigar before.The band is beautiful and appearance was very clean but a bit veiny, nothing to really detract from it here. This cigar burned super uneven. I did a maintenance light multiple times and it was still a problem. It required a 20-30 second maintenance puff which irritated me I wanted something closer to a minute and found myself over nicatined. Nothing interesting in the aroma. The taste was young tobacco. Actually, after cutting the cap it revealed some very green tobacco in the very center. The overwhelming taste was young tobacco. If you just want a tobacco taste. This is for you. I wanted something interesting to taste, this wasn't it.

I am on the fence about this cigar. I think it was because the burn pattern was a little qwerky. I had to correct the burn a few times throughout my session with this one. I did like the taste though. Very spicy full bodied cigar. The heat and spice definitely turns up a notch in the last 3rd of this stick. I think I need to try it again to really say i would recommend this cigar

I love this brand. I've tried the Connecticut, the Centurion H2KCT and Le Bijou. Everyone of them, in my opinion, five stars and a personal favourite. This sampler pack is a great way to try some of the other My Father brands and peak my curiosity without breaking the bank. ..... whooow, In the 1st/3rd I got punched in the face with an over powering Note of pepper and hints of leather. 2nd/3rd got a lot better as the Pepper mellowed out and the other notes came in, like lite pepper, leather and cedar. As the stick went on to the final 3rd it brought in notes of toasted Almonds and citrus. A very pleasent stick for sure. At 1st I was like where the Heck! Are all theses good comments coming from!!! Hahahaha well now I know, for the beginner Medium to full stick starters just get passed the 1st/3rd and you will not regret it. Ps: Make sure u have a decent size meal before going rounds with this bad boy.

Some of you who have spoken with me no doubt know that I consider the lancero vitola my absolute all-time favorite cigar size. I feel it does the best job allowing you to taste the wrapper, binder and filler profiles evenly. This cigar also features a pigtail as well which is rather unique among cigars of today. The construction on this cigar is spectacular with a smooth wrapper and very little veins. The first light is loaded with spice and black pepper along with some dark cocoa. These flavors are present throughout the cigar. The burn is flawless and very even, with lots of copious gray smoke. If you are looking for a full bodied cigar that exudes class go back in time and pick up one of these today.

A perfect cigar, this stick brings value flavor far beyond its price point. Flavor profile reminiscent of cigars before the Nicaraguan taste take over. Strong tabaco taste, pepper and spice wood, textured notes leather with a sweet splash of clove. I'll be picking up a box.

This is one of my favorite smokes if not my all time favorite. The aroma and flavor are superb. Medium to strong in strength the full bodied flavor remains consistent throughout. Sometimes the burn is less than perfect but nothing major. Of all the Pepin Garcia cigars, this is my favorite.

This is by far one of my most favorite connecticut wrapper sticks. Great quality wrap on this, even and slow burn, the blend of tobacco used here is truly exceptional. An enjoyable, creamy, smooth cigar. I highly recommend and plan on buying this again. Thank you for producing such a wonderful cigar, and made here in USA is an added bonus!

It's a My Father, need I go any further? The #4 Lancero is full body without the full body burn. The draw is full, the burn even and the flavors explode. They're pricy and not an everyday stick, but they are one hell of a way to treat yourself!

Quite possibly one of the best cigars out on the market today, they are truly one of the best kept gems. These cigars are masterfully crafted, incredibly solid roll, and i'm not mistaken, triple cap is applied. Really impressive aroma on this, very mellow and creamy smooth. Flavorful without being too aggressive or peppery. I hope the quality and production on these remain consistent, as I will be a loyal follower. Really can't go wrong here. Because they are more tightly rolled I found the burn on these are somewhat challenging, so you can't walk away from the cigar for long and come back to find it still going. This was my only complaint.

I enjoy most My Father cigars. They are consistently smooth and well constructed with a good flavor profile. I enjoyed smoking this one, but it just felt like more of a medium than a full to me.

A nice and full Robusto which lets you get into the “My Father” typical flavors without being overwhelmed. It is a creamy cigar, with earthy, toasted and leathery flavors, covered by a very pleasant and steady sweetness and a very slight hint of vanilla. The peppery touch, a constant for the brand, is neither overdone nor excessive and it might be mellowed down by its intensely nutty and woody undertones. A nice and quick after dinner smoke.

The Cedros Eminentes is one of those cigars that just calls to you from the box. From its beautiful packaging to its delicious pre-light aroma this is definitely deserving of its high rating. The moment you light this delicious my father you are hit with that familiar don pepin pepper followed by a warm cedar note that continues throughout the rest of this smoke. Perfectly complimented by a nice scotch this is definitely one for the books.

I love this cigar! the burn is actually pretty good but the ash does not get very long before it falls off. Have to be outside or near an ash tray often.

Great cigar for the price. Peppery to start with a somewhat wavy burn that corrects itself - ash will stay on almost as long as you want it to ! Some dried fruit sweetness in the middle as the pepper dies down. At the last 3rd, pepper and earthiness kick back up.
