A very strong, full bodied cigar that continues La Flor Dominicana's trend of blending powerful cigars. These Babies are amazing. Dominican filler and binder grown on their farm, wrapped in dark Ecuadorian sun grown leaves. Eat before you smoke.

The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

Ecuadorian Sumatra-Seed
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. Ecuador supplies Connecticut and Sumatra type wrappers to many cigar factory in the world.

Dominican Republic
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Dominican Republic is a traditional tobacco-growing country. In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.

Not sure how I feel about the chisel tip while smoking. Different for sure. Not something I’d choose when doing things like mowing lawn, etc because it’s not the best for holding in mouth while using hands. Anyway, the cigar - nice and strong which I liked. Burn was superb and ash too. Draw was surprisingly easy. I clipped the end and in the future I’ll try the pinch and maybe the top and/or bottom punch method. While it appears kinda a novelty it isn’t. It’s well made and excellent cigar. RH65% 70F. Will buy more to have around. I still prefer the double Ligero without the chisel tip though. But it’s a close 2nd.

Had to relight it from half-way point, which was rather annoying. Some complain about the ash that falls quickly but this is a Lancero so it's quite normal. The flavours are those of a LFD and of a double Ligero. This cigar is strong with bold flavors. Not a beginner cigar.

Nice looking stick, Actually looks like one. Light brown, some visible veins and barely visible seams. A bit Spongy with a cold loose draw that hints of Sweet Tobacco. Pre light aroma from the wrapper is faint, like my dog when he needs a bath, the foot, on the other hand, smells of sweet Tobacco. Once lit the spice dominates, with some very light cedar that I had to search for. Burns uneven, producing a crooked dark grey ash. It takes two puffs to get a tasty mouthful of very spicy ligh smoke. Ash holds barely half an inch and falls, interestingly the smoke gets thicker, so does the flavor. Potent, spice is present but eases a bit giving was to a "dark" wood flavor. Enjoying every inch, halfway the spices subside, I can barely taste them, giving way to smoky popcorn. Smooth Potent stick.

Lol I didn't read this in time and cut the head instead of pinching. Cut a bit high n needed cigar glue to fix the wrapper coming loose. But what a great tasting cigar. Leathery with the spice kicking in after the first third. I like the chisel head and draws surprisingly good. Gonna order another n try the pinch next time. Excellent cigar.

I got this to try the Coronado and Cameroon which are the only 2 i never had before. They were still good cigars but a lot less strength than the Ligero Chisel tips.

Perfect Full Bodied Cigar. Very nice presentation, solid, even toned milk chocolate wrapper with almost no veins and invisible seams. I did not "pinch" the cap, as suggested, instead I used my reliable 24 year old Zino Guillotine, plan, simple and still sharp. Expected a tight draw, I was surprised with a Perfect draw, with the right amount of resistance. Cold draw had hints of sweet Tobacco with a bit of licorice and wood. Once lit, wood dominates the flavor with pepper rounding the profile. It is a slow burning cigar, medium to low smoke volume, and the smoke itself is light. Burn is Good, not razor sharp, but self correcting. I did not plan for a long 2 hour smoke, but so far, so good. First third packs a punch, it is a strong cigar, I'm enjoying the chisel shape. Ash drops at two inches. Second 3rd the pepper dissipates and the wood evolves, still wood but with a deeper flavor and a hint of cedar. Last 3rd is delicious with the wood turning a bit sweet. Perfect Cigar, looking forward to trying more LFD double ligero Sticks.

I freakin love the LFD Double Ligeros...first time smoking the chisel. I like that the shape of the chisel lets you fine-tune to the exact kind of draw you like by cutting off the amount you want. I recommend cutting off very little, then little by little cutting more until you get the perfect draw.

First off, the narrow gauge of the lancero is typically not my cup of mead. This LFD did deliver on the taste to be sure, but like previous reviewers I did have burn and draw issues. It went out twice on me and I had to draw repeatedly to prevent it going out again. Strikes me as more of an indoors cigar and I smoked it outside on a muggy and breezy night. If a fan of longer slimmer cigars n smoking it inside then this us a good choice but if outdoors n lanceros not your style then I'd not go with this one for those reasons.

Very interesting shape to it. No cut required, I just popped the top at the end by pinching in on it, I would told can also punch it from the top to the bottom at the end of it. Very oily wrapper. this is a strong pepper bomb of a flavor to it, with some raisin and coffee, hint of leather. Retrohale is strong pepper, this cigar is legit, not for a beginner. I had to lay it down for a few minutes between puffs because this is one is strong, full strength no doubt, but very enjoyable smoking experience overall.

This is a nice sample pack. Litto Gomez gives an interesting description about ways to cut a Chisel cigar. Two ways include squeezing it and popping it open or you can punch the the top. Easy to find with Google and YouTube. Great sample check it out.

I've smoked literally over a thousand of the LFD D-700s, in both the maduro and the natural wrappers and I enjoy them almost equally. The natural wrapper probably has less of a zing on the tongue, than the maduro, which almost has a sweetness to it and depending on mood, one may prefer one over the other. If you like a smooth, full bodied smoke, with little to no peakiness, these are for you. Construction is generally excellent, with an occasional soft spot, or uneven burn, but over the large sample size that I've tried, the D-700s are a solid 9+ out of 10. If you're not used to a full flavored jolt out of your cigars, then these aren't for you. I smoke them morning, noon and night--doesn't much matter. One of 3 (Diggers & CAO Flathead 770) cigars that I regularly smoke and I've smoked just about everyday for ~23 years. When I can develop a way to distill the D-700s (and Diggers) down into an I.V. drip, I'll be golden. Chris

A close to perfect assortment of sticks. All were perfectly rolled in the DR factory. Very earthy and a full bodied generous smoke. Highly recommend each of the included sticks separately.
