Nat Sherman is a family owned and operated cigar company that was founded in the 1930s in New York City. The Nat Sherman Timeless collection is a highly acclaimed cigar that the company developed after engaging both retailers and consumers in a sampling process. The Nicaraguan made cigar is a medium bodied, box pressed Nicaraguan puro handmade in the Plasencia Cigars factory. Coffee, cocoa, chocolate, spica and cream are in the profile.

Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Beautiful dark wrapper. Burned evenly throughout and had an easy draw. I enjoyed the notes of cocoa and coffee in this well constructed, mild tasting stick. I will buy again. A great cigar for newer smokers, friends, or those who like a mild cigar.

One of the most perfect cigars I've had. In my experience, it's like smoking a Cuban coffee. Smoked one around a bonfire and it lasted nearly 2 hours. Amazing burn and taste throughout. Ash line is crisp and ash is a bright light grey. A very dense cigar in weight and taste - incredibly satisfying. I'll be stocking boxes of 556's until they can no longer be found.

The label made me try this. It sounds shallow but I am trying new sticks for the next 6 months to see if I can find any hidden gems. This is a lovely thick sturdy stick which gives an incredible amount of smoke and it is always interesting from start to finish.,

This is a beautiful, dark, oily cigar. The aroma is like a tray of sugar cookies hot out of the oven. Followed by a Steamy creamy latte. I’ll probably get another box before they’re gone forever.

Enjoying this very much as I post this. Nice ring size and length, very nice aroma, dark chocolate skin, nice white ash. I gave 4 of 5 stars on the draw, only because this one was a bit tightly rolled but used a cigar poker and good to go.

This surprised me. I always see the nat Sherman logo and brand and in my mind they gave me a cheap feel and I assumed I wouldn’t like them. This surprised me. I don’t think I’ll ever want a box but a couple for sure. Surprisingly good construction and color.

Very disappointed. Stick was kind of soft and sponge-y, really just an acrid bitter smoke flavor. Darker wrapper than in the primary photo here, square box press. Fast burn, hot. I had bought 3 on spec so I will keep 2 in the humidor and see if they get better with time, but it was a major let-down.

Nat sherman cigars is synonym of classic luxury and this box press Vitola is not the exception. cigar is all about subtleness, without being excessively ornate you can tell it's a great smoke at first sight. Starting with some cocoa and very strong chocolate notes with a hint of spice and delivering some wood and fruity flavors later on. The flavors evolved from subtle to medium and finish with a strong natural tobacco combined with wood and cedar. A beautiful even burning line and gray ash. I liked to imagine this is the type of cigar my grandfather used to smoke, no false promises but great without being pretentious.

Nat Sherman has come a Long way in my book. These sticks have a full body flavor and make rich smoke. The only issue I have had is with and irregular burn pattern but it usual rights itself by the last 2-3 inches. I would highly recommend these smokes if you are looking to try a little bolder flavor stick that isn't quite an LFD chapter 1 yet but definitely isn't a curly head.

New York's Nat Sherman is a brand that is new to Neptune Cigars, and due to the numerous amount of times we were asked for it prior to its arrival, I was very much looking forward to finally trying one. This is a beautiful box-pressed torpedo with a simple yet attractive cream colored band and a smooth, dark wrapper. Notes of wood and subtle pepper were apparent immediately after lighting, and remained fairly consistent throughout the duration. The draw was perfect, and I never found myself needing to relight. Overall, a very solid smoke for when you want quality Nicaraguan tobacco at a generous price.
