To create Casa Magna Colorado, Manuel Quesada, a long time cigar maker in the Dominican Republic, created a partnership with Nestor Plasencia in Nicaragua. The blend that resulted was bold, with tobacco from Esteli and Jalapa, and full flavor with rich coffee and sweet cedar notes. The Robusto was crowned as the #1 Cigar of the Year 2008 by Cigar Aficionado.

Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Created by legendary cigar blenders Manuel Quesada and Nestor Plasencia, this Nicaraguan puro sports a reddish Colorado maduro wrapper that has a nice oily finish to it. Medium to full body but very smooth to smoke and easy to retrohale with flavors of cedar, coffee, cream and black pepper. Burns incredibly stable requiring no touch ups and has a nice sturdy light gray ash. If you are looking for the perfect concoction of complex rich flavors, a Nicaraguan puro that won’t have you reaching for a glass of milk, this is a silky smooth full flavored smoke with perfect construction that would make a worthy addition to your humidor.

I usually smoke these bad boys, great cigar but find this batch or at least the first one to have a very tight draw which puts allot of pressure on the mouths muscles. Feels like I’m trying to syphon gas from a tube. Not smoking like a forest fire.

A large cigar that definitely has a lot of toasted wood notes. If you don't like that flavor don't buy this one cause it's loaded with it. I found it only mildly interesting as it's pretty one dimensional. Wouldn't buy again or recommend it.

I was disappointed with these. The dry draw along with the burn was very loose. Be careful with the band. It will take wrapper off the cigar. These were way too mild for my taste.

Manuel Quesada, a great guy and Viet Nam Veteran, created these fine cigars. Gorgeous, toothy, Colorado wrapper. This cigar is weighty, being really fully rolled. The draw is perfect as is the burn. Tons of leather and earth flavors and aroma. Mr. Quesada makes some really fine stogies!

Really nice, full-flavored, full strength cigar. Deep, earthy/leathery flavors with a sliver of sweetness. One of my favorite cigars after a huge meal!

Nice smoke output. Very nice strong flavor, razor sharp burn, very spicy and a lot of pepper. Amazing cigar; and the cold smell is just amazing! Very recommended if you enjoy full bodied cigars.

The Casa Magna robusto has been one of my favorite full-bodies cigars for a while. I really like this toro as well...great burn, full flavor, and really great aroma. I think the robusto is a better value but would not hesitate to buy more of these.

The No.1 of 2008 did it for me! I have sampled quite a few and this Robusto has a great burn, exceptional flavours making it my go to stick on weekends. So good I had to buy a box!

If you are looking for a large, long lasting cigar that kicks like a mule and smokes like a forest fire, look no further. This stick sports a gorgeous reddish brown, slightly oily Colorado wrapper that smells of hay and caramel pre-light. It is firm and has decent weight to it indicating a firm pack. However the pack does not hurt the quality of the draw. It pulls easy and as I mentioned earlier, produces a lot of smoke. I found the dominate post-light flavors to be earth, leather, caramel, coffee and spice. Strength keeps building until the end. Pairs well with espresso. Make sure to have eaten something before firing this baby up. Cheers!
